SPAYING AND NEUTERING
HEALTH/BEHAVIORAL BENEFITS
Spaying is the process of surgically removing a female animal's reproductive system, and neutering is the male equivalent. These processes eliminate the risk of reproductive cancers in pets and is strongly recommended by most vets. Sterilizing animals also prevents behavioral problems such as marking, roaming, and reduced aggression.
COMMUNITY BENEFITS
Shelters are constantly overflowing and struggling to find homes for the countless animals that are lost and surrendered. Spaying and neutering helps reduce the number of animals who end up euthanized for space in these shelters. Even if you manage to find homes for every kitten/puppy of your pet's litter, those could have been homes for a shelter animal who's life is at risk.
